Subscribing to groups on VK is carried out in just a few clicks, so the average user often has a huge list of communities that they want to get rid of. This is quite easy to do, but when the list of groups exceeds 100, it becomes more and more difficult to accomplish.

Manual unsubscribe

This method involves visiting a group and leaving it as standard. Let's look at how this can be done through a mobile application and a computer version.

Via computer

We leave the community via PC:

Open your VKontakte page in the browser and go to the “ Communities ” section - from there we go to the desired group. In it, click on the “ You are a participant ” button.

In the menu that appears, select “ Leave group ”.

Thus, the “ You are a member ” button will be changed to “ Join the group ” - this means that you have unsubscribed from the group.

Via phone

Unsubscribe from the group through the official VKontakte application:

Open the application on your smartphone and go to the community from which you need to leave. In it, click on the “ You are a participant ” button located under the “ Message ” button.

In the window that appears, select “ Leave Community ”.

Now the “ Join ” button will be displayed in this group - this means that you are no longer subscribed to the community.

This way we can unsubscribe from one group. To unsubscribe from everyone, you need to do such actions for each community, and this is not at all rational. It is better to use a special application or script. We will discuss how this can be done in the following sections.

How to leave a Viber group on PC

If you don’t have a smartphone at hand, you can leave the group using a computer running Windows OS. It is known that the application on PC is completely autonomous, and if you wish, you can unsubscribe from the community or refuse to receive notifications. Let's look at how to do this in more detail.

The first method to leave a group is to use the Viber chat menu. The algorithm of actions is as follows:

Log in to the messenger on your computer and find the name of the group you plan to leave in the list on the left side.
Click on the name with the right mouse button.
In the list that appears, select the Log out and delete section.

When choosing this path, the participant completely stops participating after clicking on the button of the same name. If you have not yet made a final decision, it is better to select the “Silent” section. In the future, if you have already turned off the sound notifications, but want to completely remove notifications from the Viber group, right-click on the community name again. The system gives two solutions - Log out and delete or Do not disturb for 30 days. The second option allows you to remain in the group, but avoid receiving any notifications.

To return the community to its original state, just double-click on the menu and right-click on the chat name. After the first click you will need to turn on the notification, and after the second click you will need to turn on the sound.

Let's look at another way to leave a Viber group via a PC. Here you need to use the Details menu. The algorithm is like this:

Click on the “i” icon next to the chat name when you open it.
Scroll through the suggested list that appears on the right side.
Click on the Sign out and delete link.
Confirm the proposed request by clicking a similar button.

These actions are enough to completely unsubscribe from the group community. Alternatively, you can turn off sound information according to the principle discussed above.

How to leave a WhatsApp group?

Leaving a general conversation on WhatsApp is easier than deleting a group: every user can do this, even those who have not yet learned how to take high-quality HDR photographs.

You can remove yourself from the WhatsApp community as follows:

Open the main application window and find the desired group.

Having gone into it, call up the context menu in the upper right corner and select “Group data”.

Scroll down the page that opens, find the “Leave Group” button and tap on it.

In a new window, the owner of the smartphone will see a message stating that he is no longer a participant in the general chat.

If you deleted yourself by mistake, you can write to the community administrator and ask to be added again by tapping on his name in the list of participants and selecting “Write.”

If, on the contrary, a former group member does not want to be added again, you must click on the “Report Group” button at the very bottom of the same page.

In a new dialog box, the system will prompt the user not only to leave the group, as has already been done, but also to delete all messages he left.

In this case, the community chat along with all multimedia files will be deleted automatically.

An administrator who wants to leave the WhatsApp group, but has no intention of ending its existence, can transfer his powers to the selected participant before leaving:

Go again to the “Group Data” section, go down to the bottom of the page and select the interlocutor by clicking.

In the context menu, select “Assign as group admin.”

Now, next to the user name, the same square will appear as the one for the creator of the WhatsApp group.

Important: to remove administrator rights for a participant, you should tap on his name again and select the “Cancel admin” line.

How to delete a community if you are an administrator

You can leave a group or community not only if you are a member. Administrators can also leave the group. The situation is more complicated with the removal of the community itself. The application does not provide such an opportunity due to the human factor, and so that with one click of a button it does not deprive dozens or even hundreds of people of the opportunity to communicate in this chat.

But you can still delete a group if you are an administrator. To do this, you will have to throw out all participants from the community.

Let's go to the community. Click on the name. Go to the section " Participants” and methodically remove everyone from the public (it may take time).
Once you are left alone, click “ Log out and delete ” at the bottom of the page and thereby completely delete the community.
