What kind of ticks are there? Depending on the general style of the text, its type of design, and the reason for adding the symbol, you can choose one or another type:

System resources
The character can be typed manually directly from the keyboard by entering the U+ sign and then the check mark code.
However, this approach only works in browsers and operating systems that are configured to recognize Unicode.
By default, this function is not available, setting it up is quite time-consuming and difficult, and not all users know how to do it.
Therefore, it is much easier to use a special character in Word.
In order to do this, follow the algorithm:

- Start creating a new document or open the one in which you want to create an icon. Place the cursor by left-clicking on the place where you want the checkmark. In the top menu ribbon, find the Insert tab (third from the left) and expand it.

- A small drop-down menu will open - it is initially unlikely that there will be a checkmark in it, so most likely you will need to go to the Other symbols section.

- A window will open with an expanded list of special characters . You don't have to change anything about it - the font doesn't matter. You can simply scroll down the list of symbols with default settings until you find a checkmark there.

- Select the Dingbats set . Please note that the encoding in the bottom field must be Unicode Hex.

- Several checkbox options will appear in the list that opens - select the one that suits you and just click on it.

- The second way to add this icon is to enter its code, the same as for the browser in the lower field Sign code. It is also important that the encoding remains Unicode hex. Immediately after this, the system will open the sign you need and all you have to do is click on it.
If a checkmark is added to a document in this way, then it is fully functional and can be subject to all the same changes and modifications as the text in the document.

Entering a checkbox using Microsoft Word
Perhaps the simplest
one of the methods is MS Word, namely the symbol table built into Word: go to the “Insert” tab, click on the “Symbols” button - “Symbol” - “Other symbols”, then in the “Set” field select the “
Dingbats
” section.
The check mark can be obtained by finding it in the general list or by entering Unicode in a special field
at the bottom of the tab. After this, the system will automatically find the required object and all that remains is to confirm the insertion by clicking on “Insert”.
Using Unicode, a list of characters, is somewhat similar to alt code.
Specific method
depends on the program, almost all of them have a window for entering Unicode. You must understand that this type of input is only possible where it is supported, otherwise the checkmark icon will not be displayed correctly or will not be visible at all.

In the browser
Since absolutely all browsers recognize hexadecimal Unicode encoding, you can add checkmarks to the text as follows:
- Press U and +.
- After this, without spaces, type the code of the character you need - the browser will immediately recognize it as a check mark.
The method works at absolutely any stage of Internet activity - posting a post, replying to a message, etc.
The digital symbols are as follows:
- U+2713 is a regular checkmark.
- U+2714 – bold font.
- U+2705 – highlighted, squared.

How to put a tick next to a VKontakte name
To pass the page verification and receive the coveted official tick, you must comply with a number of requirements that people from the VKontakte administration have prepared for you. You must be famous and well-known; these parameters fit:

- high citation in the media
- popularity on various Internet sites

And yet, following all the rules does not at all guarantee that it will be easy to get a tick next to the name, because the human factor intervenes. The VKontakte administration can simply refuse you if it deems it necessary. If you want to somehow highlight your page among the gray mass of accounts, then you can give yourself a green checkmark.
Emoticons
There are many checkmark options hidden in emoji on Android and iOS.
They are located in the Symbols section and can be made in different colors, depending on the type of operating system.
When typing messages on social networks, most often, such a sign is also present, and it is also moved to the Symbols or Special Designations section.

How to get a VKontakte checkmark if you are a regular user?

According to VKontakte rules, the verification option is provided only to certain groups of people. The average user will have to resort to a little trick.
- In the VKontakte search bar, insert “This page is officially verified” and press Enter.
- In the search results, open the page of the group with the most subscribers and join it.
- Go to your profile settings and specify this same group as your place of work. After making changes, do not forget to click on the “Save” button.
That's all. After some time, your page will be verified. In this case, the profile must be open, and the page must not contain junk content (advertising, nickname instead of last name, etc.).
