Greetings! Not long ago I talked about the possibility of setting up automatic mailing on VKontakte and, in particular, about the Gamayun service, through which this can be done for free.

Using this service, in general I can say that it is functional and convenient, and the developers are constantly improving it. So, several new options have appeared in the mailer, which I consider necessary to talk about and share the practice of using them. Perhaps you have not yet had time to apply and evaluate them.

What are the options?

Links to the subscription page with tags

If you already use Gamayun VKontakte auto-mail lists and place subscription links in different sources, now you can make a separate link with a label for each source. For example, in posts in your group, on your personal page, in targeted advertising on a post with a free subscription, or by promoting posts through advertising in other communities. In the statistics you will see the number of clicks on the link and subscriptions, as well as the conversion percentage.

For example, I have several active links with tags that I use to track conversions. They are in promotional posts for the free checklist that I give away for subscribing to my newsletter. For this checklist, I created a separate newsletter in Gamayun, wrote an advertising post and in it I provide a link to subscribe to this newsletter. The post itself is promoted in several sources - in targeted advertising to groups on my topic, to my retargeting databases, and also this post is pinned in my VK group, and everyone who enters the group sees it.

So, I made my own labels for each of these sources. Since the tags appeared recently, and the posts had already been published earlier, I replaced the links in the posts that are advertised in the target, but not in the attached post in the group, since it is no longer editable. If you add a link with a label to it, then only delete it and recreate it again. But I wouldn’t want this, because there are already activities under it - likes, reposts and comments. Therefore, I do not collect statistics from this link, and in the screenshot there are 0.

Well, from two other sources, I, in principle, see that posting to groups on my topic works well for me. The conversion shows 64%. But the post on the retargeting databases is being posted sluggishly, there are currently few views (4) and only 1 subscription. I need to work on this - perhaps raise the price so that the post gets promoted more actively + expand my retargeting bases, since they are quite small. Here's an example of how to use these tagged links and how to analyze their data.

Now I will show you how to create such links.

In your account in Gamayun, in the “Dispatcher” section, you need to click on the “Application Settings” button.

In the “Data source” field, indicate the name of the source for the link (previously I indicated it in Latin letters, but you can also use Russian letters). The main thing is that you understand what the source is.

In the “topic id” field, indicate the id of the specific newsletter for which you are making this link. You don’t have to specify it, then all your mailings will be displayed on the transition page.

Where can I get the newsletter id? You need to exit the application settings (just click on an empty space, the window will close, then you can return to unfinished actions). And on the left, where “Topics” is, click on the icon with an arrow under a specific topic (newsletter).

In the window that opens there will be a link to subscribe to this topic, and in the link after the sign = or # the id of the newsletter (we copy it).

When you have entered all the data, click on the “Get link” button.

Then you can copy this link to place it for advertising in the appropriate source. It will also appear in the list below, and you can track statistics on it.

Unlike promotional posts, this format has a button with a call to action and does not allow you to attach any attachments. The post with the button contains text (up to 220 characters), a snippet in which you can change the title and manually add an image (537x240 pixels).

A link in an ad with a button can lead to a community page or website, a community application, a VKontakte application, directly to a dialogue with the community, or generate calls. There can only be one link per ad. Payment for placement is based on CPM or CPC models.

According to VKontakte, the effectiveness of publications with a button is higher than without a button. Ads receive 30% more clicks, CTR is 1.5 times higher, CPC is 32% lower.

In the settings, depending on the type of advertised object (website or VKontakte application, community page) and the target action, the following buttons are available:

One option for a CTA button is the “Call” button. It is shown in ads in VKontakte mobile applications and in the mobile version of the site. Such advertisements allow the user to directly contact the company's office or call center.

Using the Application Collection Forms application, you can add a lead generation form to your ad. So, the user will be able to leave his contact information and sign up for a lesson or visit.

Another useful feature for analysis is the ability to count clicks on links that you send in newsletter messages. To do this, Gamayun developers integrated the shortcut vk.cc + into the mailer and made it convenient to view conversion statistics.

Now, when you send a message to the mailing list, and there is some link in it, you can click on the vk.cc button and shorten your link, then paste it into the message (this link will record the number of clicks on it).

You will see statistics on the side right: where all the messages you have sent are displayed. The first icon in the form of a man with an arrow is the link transition.

If you hover over a number with the mouse, a pop-up window will appear - in it, click on the same number, then a page with more detailed statistics will open.

The same ability to add counter links and see statistics is also available in message chains. Only now, the counter is not added to previously created messages in the chain, only to new ones.

Before working with the VK advertising account, and even during it, many questions arise, and this is absolutely normal. To solve this problem, you have me, so below will be the necessary answers to the most frequently asked questions.

1. How to get to the advertising account?

You probably thought the first question would be how to create an advertising account in VK. But you have it, or rather on the social network, you just need to get into it. If you are on a computer and there is no “Advertising” button on your page, then point to the area next to any section and click on the gear that appears.

You decide how much you want to spend on advertising. It is enough to deposit 500 rubles into your account, and you can already place advertisements. By the way, the higher the advertising budget, the wider audience you can reach.

And the more you set the price for 1,000 impressions, the more accurate they will be to the target audience. By selecting “Automatic price management”, you can set a goal - maximum impressions, maximum conversions, applications or joining the public. In “Universal Recording” you can only select the price for impressions.

4. What is the difference between Targeting and the Market Platform?

Targeting is advertising to a target audience. Correctly configured targeting allows you to show ads only to potential customers or subscribers. Do not overuse the text in the picture. It seems that a large number of words will make it more detailed and understandable, which is why they will be interested. But the more text there is in an image, the less you want to read it. VKontakte has a restriction: the text on the image should not occupy more than 50% of the area. But don't try to stick to the 50% figure. It would be best to use a headline in the form of an offer and a small text with the most important idea.

14. What are the audience settings?

Naturally, how to work with targeting without setting up an audience. In the office, you can set geography, demographic characteristics, interests, etc. Now let's look at each setting in more detail.

Indicate the country, cities and regions in which your target audience is located, and you can also exclude unnecessary ones. This is useful when you work, for example, only in small cities.

21. What are the main statistics metrics?

Statistics help analyze the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. For all advertisements you can see:

  • Coverage. Counted in unique users. If views are counted every time an entry appears on the user’s device screen, then coverage is counted only once;
  • Number of impressions. Please note that one person can watch an advertisement several times. An impression is considered when the upper and lower borders appear on the user's display;
  • CTR. This indicator reflects the popularity of the ad. It counts as Transitions/Impressions * 100%. The standard CTR in VK is considered to be 0.5 – 0.8%. However, always try to get it above at least 1%;
  • Number of clicks. If a user clicks on an advertisement several times, this is counted as one click;
  • The amount of money spent. In the VK advertising account you can see what you are paying for;
  • eCPC. An indicator that will show the average cost of one transition.

An important metric that is not displayed in the advertising account is the customer acquisition cost (CAC). To calculate it, divide the total cost of the entire advertising campaign by the number of clients who came. For example, if you spent 15,000 rubles on an advertising campaign, and 30 clients came from it, the cost of attracting a client is 500 rubles.

There are other metrics that reflect the effectiveness of your ads. For example, the number of likes, comments and video views.

22. What to do if the account is blocked?

Each advertisement is carefully checked by moderators. If it does not comply with the site rules, it will be rejected. Your advertising account will be blocked if your advertisement is repeatedly rejected due to violations. Unsubscribe in one click + unsubscribe statistics

When sending newsletters to subscribers, it is good practice to place a link at the end of the message for the opportunity to unsubscribe. Someone will change their mind about receiving your newsletters, for some the topic will become irrelevant, for others they will simply start to bother them... This is a normal thing, so the ability to unsubscribe should be easily available to the subscriber.

Previously, to unsubscribe in Gamayun, the same subscription link was used, but when the subscriber clicked on it, instead of the text “Allow notifications,” the subscriber had the text “Prohibit notifications” on the button.

But now you can do it more conveniently and in one click. Just add the following command to the message text: %unsubscribe%. When a subscriber receives a message, a link to unsubscribe like this will appear in the text instead of a command:

When you click on it, you will immediately unsubscribe. However, there is also a downside - if the subscriber just wanted to check the link and then clicks “return subscription”, then your series of messages will begin to arrive to him first.

This link allows you to collect statistics on unsubscribes - it is shown next to the number of clicks on the link from the letter in the form of a person icon with a cross.

How to join the VK group?

It’s equally easy to join public pages and communities from your phone or computer, so take action from any platform. The software (Android or iOS) does not matter, since the “Join” or “Subscribe” button is everywhere. So how to subscribe to a page you are interested in? As easy as pie:

  • Find the community you need (through search or from friends).
  • Visit the page.
  • Click the “Join” or “Subscribe” button.
  • Done, you are now a participant.

Remember that in closed or private groups you must receive confirmation from the admin in order to view the content within. Closed ones can confirm, but private ones often cannot (sects and thematic pages for a narrow circle).

Also, in my opinion, the link to subscribe to a specific newsletter (topic) has become more convenient. Now, when clicking on such a link, the subscriber is taken to the subscription application page, where only this topic (newsletter) is displayed, and all others are hidden.

For example, it’s more practical for me to post just such a link in a post with a free gift for subscribing. I just copy the link to the topic I created for this gift and post it in the post. The person subscribes and receives the promised gift in the first automatic message.

If you still haven’t found a way to get people to follow you, you can leave a request to be added as a friend in groups. To do this, select the appropriate community and write something like “I’m adding everyone as a friend,” and then wait for the application.

Only you will not add users as friends, but will receive ready-made subscribers. This method has two disadvantages. The first is that you spoil your karma by actually deceiving other users. Secondly, you shouldn’t be surprised that users will unfollow you without receiving mutual friendship.
