Comments on VKontakte and management of “comments” on VK

People trust brands more that have not only a lot of likes and reposts in their groups, but also comments. Comments are one indicator of community engagement—how interested people are in content. If there are a lot of comments, then VKontakte will promote your posts higher in the “smart feed” and many more people will see them.

Additionally, comments are an invaluable source of customer information. Comments will help you create a portrait of your target audience, find out the needs of the audience, increase customer loyalty and resolve their objections.

But for comments to really work, they need to be there. To achieve this, community users need to be encouraged to comment.

Leave a clear call to action

The easiest way to get people to do something is to ask them to do it directly. To do this, at the end of each post, just write: “Like, repost and leave comments,” or simply ask people to share their opinions on this issue.

Example call for comments

Remember that the same call to comment on different posts will look fake, so try to structure it based on the post, such as asking questions.

Social networks - an alternative to comments on a website?

It is believed that now it is necessary to communicate and write comments on social networks, because they are intended specifically for communication. By the way, almost all sites have their own pages on social networks, where they provide the opportunity to write their opinion.

As for the Lenta ru portal mentioned above, where the ability to comment on materials is closed, it has its own VKontakte page where you can write comments quite freely. Of course, comments on social networks are also checked by moderators, so you should not think that absolutely everything is possible on social networks.

In order to be able to express one’s opinion on a social network and leave messages there, a user’s registration in a particular network is required. In other words, you need to be a registered user on a social network, because you cannot write comments there as an anonymous user.

User anonymity is one of the reasons why commenting on websites is closed. Although the myth about anonymity on the Internet is greatly exaggerated. There are many ways to determine the author of any post or comment on the Internet, but this is a separate and completely different topic.

In order to combat anonymity, there are sites that are NOT social networks, but you can leave a comment there only if the user is authorized in any social network. For example, you must be an authorized user on VKontakte or Facebook. Only then does it become possible to send your comment to such a site.

Some sites automatically publish user messages from social networks. What does this mean? An announcement of the material (article, post) published on the site is published on the social network. The announcement can be published in a group or on the personal page of the author of the article. Users write comments on this material, which are automatically duplicated from the social network on the website of the author of the article. Therefore, the user is mistaken if he thinks that, for example, messages on Odnoklassniki written for an article by some author “will not go anywhere further than this social network.”

Select hot topics

People love to discuss current issues - celebrity performances, major scandals, hot water outages or holidays. Posts with congratulations, jokes or thoughts on this topic always attract a lot of comments - people share their opinions or express their attitude to the issue very willingly.

An example of speculation on a popular topic - even an openly advertising post gets a lot of likes and comments

To write such posts, you need to closely monitor what is happening in the world - read the news and follow discussions in large groups on VKontakte. The content plan drawn up in advance may need to be slightly modified in order to quickly respond to the latest news.

If you don’t have time to monitor the news, there is still a chance to play on popular topics - you need to prepare specific content for holidays and common events, such as summer heat or school holidays. Since these events happen around the same time every year, posts for them are easy to add to your content plan in advance. Reply to users

People really appreciate it when the community administration responds to them. It is imperative to answer user questions - this will help turn them into customers. But it would be useful not only to answer questions, but also to enter into dialogue with people, and also thank them for their comments.

If you communicate regularly, you will notice that the number of comments has increased - people will comment again and again, as they are pleased to receive replies and thanks.

Example of successful community responses

It is better to respond to comments as quickly as possible. The official VKontakte Moderator application can help with this - it notifies you of new comments even under old posts.

How to write an essay in task C1? Part 3

A comment is an explanatory note, a reflection on the problem you have highlighted in the text.

Your comment should connect the problem that you formulated earlier with the author’s position, which you will talk about later: show the author’s train of thought, how exactly he reveals the formulated problem, leading readers to a certain conclusion. The author of the text conveys his thoughts to you, encrypts them verbally, and your task is to understand them and decipher them. The comment shows how deeply and fully you understood the problem and were able to see its aspects outlined by the author.

There are two types of comments.

In any case, the comment should be based on the text read!

Types of information in text

Commenting requires the ability to work with various types of text information. The information contained in the text varies in significance and manner of expression. Typically, there are three types of textual information: factual, conceptual and subtextual.

Factual information is a message about facts, events, processes that occurred, are occurring or will occur in reality.

Conceptual information is the author’s subjective understanding of the relationships between facts, events, their assessment, and understanding of the cause-and-effect relationships between events. This type of information reveals the writer’s intention, paints a picture of the world as he imagines it. Conceptual information is not always clearly expressed in words. It is often derived from the interaction of different types of factual information. Moreover, conceptual information, especially in works of fiction, invites different interpretations because it is not verbally specified.

Subtextual (hidden) information is not indicated in words, but is only implied. This information arises due to the ability of words, phrases, and sentences in individual small sections of text to contain hidden meaning.

In the commentary, we are primarily interested in conceptual information, since if we mention some facts from the text, it is only in order to connect them with the author’s vision of the problem. If we reproduce only facts from the text, the commentary turns into a retelling. Identifying subtextual information—the author’s deep meaning of a statement—requires a breadth of knowledge, the ability to find associative connections, and draw analogies with other texts.

Typical designs (clichés) for commenting on a problem

Introduction of quotations into the text of an essay

In the commentary, as in no other part of the essay, quotations and various references to the text are appropriate. Remember that quotes should be organically woven into the text of the essay, and not just increase its volume. Quoting for the sake of increasing the volume of work immediately catches the eye, since it violates the logic of the development of thought.

However, it is important not only to find a good quote, but also to format it correctly. Unfortunately, failure to incorporate source text information into an essay leads to many errors. Let's look at typical ways to incorporate text information into an essay.

Direct speech

- this is an accurate, word-for-word transmission of someone else’s speech on behalf of the one who spoke or wrote it. When using direct speech, pay attention to punctuation marks. When quoting a poetic passage “in a column,” quotation marks are usually not placed; the text of the quotation begins on a new line.

When quoting “in line,” quotation marks are placed, and the text of the quotation is placed on the same line: At the end of Marina Tsvetaeva’s poem, the image of a rowan tree becomes a symbol of the homeland, a reminder that the homeland is an integral part of each of us, and behind the ellipsis lies a whole storm unspoken feelings: “But if along the way, a bush stands up, especially a mountain ash. "

Indirect speech

is a complex sentence with an explanatory clause. It is convenient in that it does not require an exact, word-for-word transmission of the source text - it is enough to preserve the general content. When replacing direct speech with indirect speech, it is necessary to replace pronouns and verbs in the 1st or 2nd person form with third person forms.

When using introductory constructions (according to the author, according to Soloukhin, etc.), the quotation begins with a small letter, and quotation marks are used if the statement does not contain 1st person forms. For example: According to S. Soloveichik, “success in one job does not pass without a trace for another.” In any case, don't get carried away with quoting! Remember that each quote must be relevant, that is, serve as an illustration of some of your thoughts.

Typical mistakes when formulating a problem

Let's look at fragments from student essays written based on the text by Y. Lotman, with errors when commenting on the problem.

I am an old man. He survived a great war as a soldier, marching across both Russia and Europe. Among my close friends there were and are Armenians, Azerbaijanis, Georgians, Estonians, Germans, and many others. And now, on the verge of death, I am forced to observe the clinical madness of hatred that covers entire areas of our earth. I pity those of them who are blinded by hatred. Do they really not see that they are being played with and that those who are now fomenting a bloody fog from behind the scenes will direct a blow against them tomorrow? What is done with their hands will very soon be done to them by someone else. And those behind the scenes will act as peacemakers when they think both sides have shed enough blood.

The era of petty conflicts and private clashes is over. The world is one, and what happens at one end inevitably responds at the other. No one will be able to hide. The bell tolls for each of us. (According to Yu. Lotman)

What does the expert check?

1)

How fully the problem is commented on (is everything that is important for understanding this problem highlighted);
2)
how correctly the problems of the source text are commented (are there any distortions of the text information, inaccuracies, contradictions);
3)
whether there are any factual errors associated with understanding the source text.

The highest score (2 points) is given if the problem in the source text is commented correctly, without distortion. There are no factual errors associated with understanding the problem in the source text.

Part 1 - basic information. Part 2 - identifying and formulating the problem. Part 4 - the author's position. Part 5 - arguing your own opinion on the problem.

Start a discussion yourself

Sometimes users don't want to leave comments. This happens because it is psychologically very difficult to leave the first comment - many people prefer to join an already ongoing discussion. In this case, you need to start a discussion yourself - write a couple of comments from your employees.

The first comments were left by community admins - this was how they managed to provoke users into discussion

Sometimes you can not just start a conversation, but leave a provocative comment - for example, speak out sharply against the content of the post. This helps start a discussion and increase the reach of the post.

The only condition is that it is better not to leave comments from pages that are visible in the community administrators. This way, users will understand that it is not real subscribers who are active, but the administration, and they are unlikely to want to communicate.

Organize competitions

People are most willing to do something in exchange for prizes. Almost everyone has been using repost contests for a long time, but a comment contest may be more useful to increase reach.

A prize can be given for a comment that:

  • received the most likes;
  • last 10–15 minutes;
  • contains the correct answer to the question.

There are also options with prizes for the largest number of comments - the main thing is to indicate in the conditions that comments should not be spam, but left to the point.

An example of a competition that caused heated discussion

Remember that only live audiences can leave comments. Therefore, first fill the group with your target audience through advertising, take care of quality content - and only then stimulate discussions. In this case, comments and increased coverage will not keep you waiting.

How to write first in comments

I think everyone has participated in some kind of draw on VK at least once. At one time I did similar things. I was the administrator of a small city group like: “Verkhnyaya Pyshma is discussing” or “Overheard in Chuguvsky”. We had about 10 thousand participants there and from time to time we gave away various certificates, tickets to concerts and cinemas. The simplest thing was, of course, a repost contest. A bunch of participants, an application that determines the winner. But at one time I got bored with it and decided to get creative, and then almost immediately I understood the phrase: “initiative. “does not like” the initiator.” It looks simple, but in reality.

For several days in a row, at random times, I decided to post a picture to the group with random text, like this:

The winner was the one who first wrote the phrase from the picture in the comments.

Is it simple? Well, I guess so. And now the picture is posted and I see in the first comments something like this:

Any questions about who won? Who is first and slippers. And people had questions. IT TURNS out: the person who first wrote the phrase wrote it without an exclamation mark, which means (according to the author of the second comment) he did not win, since he did not write the WHOLE PHRASE. Dishonest.

“Fuck, I didn’t even think about that. " - My thoughts.

And the author of the first comment presses on the fact that the conditions do not say anything about punctuation marks, but specifically he wrote the “PHRASE” and he is right.

So what should we do? In general, then I gave the tickets to the two of them, and clearly stated in the conditions about all the punctuation marks and large/small letters. I thought everything was ok. But nooooooo.

Then the “smartest” ones began to quickly write a number or a dot under the next pictures, and then (being the first, since there are few symbols) they simply adjusted the message to the desired text. Profit. Oh, there was so much crap there: “he corrected”, “no, prove it”, “you saw it too”, etc.. And there was no way to check, I don’t know how it is now, but then the corrected messages were not marked in any way.

EXAMPLE No. 2 “CLASSMATES”:

The worst shit is happening, of course, among Odnoklassniki (we also had a branch of the group there). Let's start with the fact that for OK there are no sites at all that select a random winner by class and repost (at least I couldn’t find one).

How to do it? Who knows. We tried by serial number. Like: “friends.” write your serial number in the comments, if your message is the first - number 1, if the second - 2, and so on.” Next, select a random number through the “random” site and voila. Is it simple? You write your serial number, update it, is everything ok? You move on, if not, you adjust.

At first everything was fine:

But then the soul rushed to heaven.

“FUCK, what the f*ck?!” - My thoughts.

In general, people there use the computer as “YOU” and, as a result, they don’t understand anything at all.

Meanwhile, they know how to be cunning much better than the youth from VK. These people survived the 90s, they will break through everywhere. And since it was not stated anywhere in the conditions that it was not worth writing 20 numbers, people began to do it. And even on a more serious scale (40 figures each). Then they were offended when I banned it.

Over time, the “repost” function appeared in OK. Ok, we do it based on reposts, then we open the list of those who reposted and assign them a serial number, and then select them at random. It's even simpler, right?

Let's see - the number of classes differs from reposts to a greater extent. We write - friends, don’t forget to repost. Next dialogue:

KATYA KATYA: -I don’t have such a function

Me: - it must be, look more carefully, change your browser, change your device.

KATYA KATYA: - no, I’m telling you. Generally a stupid condition, remove it.

Me: - well, this is an important condition.

KATYA KATYA: - and what should I do? It's not my fault that I don't have my phone.

“It’s my fucking fault. It’s my fault that you’re just sitting on the Internet and want a prize” - My thoughts.

So what should I tell her? If you say - all the best, he will start arguing with the entire social network with name-calling worse than Zonov’s, but to make an exception, then it’s for everyone, but why then did the rest repost? Oh questions, questions.

EXAMPLE No. 3. “BATTLE FOR HUNDRED!”:

We saw a popular drawing scheme, where people write comments and the last one to hang for more than, say, 5 minutes wins. Quite a massive thing. We decided to see how this would work in OK. There are not very many people there (about 5000), so we chose an interval of 15 minutes. They say hang it for 15 minutes - that means you will receive a prize: 100 rubles. Well, a trifle, for the sake of experiment.

Well the fuck started here. At first, about 10 people wrote all sorts of crap one after another: poems, fairy tales, omens, without waiting 5-10 minutes, but right away - they wrote a comment, and immediately wrote their own. By one o'clock in the morning there were only three left. Two of whom said that they had a day off tomorrow and could sit all night. They did it! We just sat and wrote ALL NIGHT! For a hundred. Rubles. Night. By morning there was still no winner. We reduced the waiting time to 5 minutes, but by the evening they were still fighting, and from time to time other psychic people connected to them. By nightfall, everyone had almost given up - there was only one girl left, who wanted to win more than anyone else, and everyone was almost congratulating her, but then her rival, who was also serious, got involved. After 3-4 hours, the latter still won. Based on the results of 2 days.

She couldn't win just like that. What the hell, the time in OK from different computers shows differently, so much so that only 4 minutes passed from my computer, and 5 minutes from the laptop. She also has 5 minutes. In the end, after asking several acquaintances to take screenshots, they still gave her the victory. Aaaand here it hit an aunt who had been fighting for a hundred for two days. She wrote that she was DISHONEST, she sat for so long (all her weekends), and the victory was given to “this chicken” - quote.
