Clock next to the sent message

So, let's start our analysis of various notifications from Telegram with the dial icon to the right of the sent text.

Often, this icon appears briefly and signals that the text is being sent to the messenger server. It is important to note that the clock, instead of ticks, signals that the other person has not yet received your text. There are several reasons for the clock appearing for a long time:

• First, make sure you have Internet access on your smartphone. Open your browser and go to any website. Do not forget about slight interference in the quality of the connection with Telegram due to the company’s conflict with the current legislation of the Russian Federation.
• Don't rule out problems on the company's part. No one is immune from sudden breakdowns or other problems that cause a certain malfunction in the application. Just try to wait a while.

This article is for those who have firmware below 3.1.2 (for those who don’t know: for this firmware you just need to go to Settings/SMS-MMS/Delivery Report and configure it in a manner convenient for you). Below we will describe how you can get this same report for the three largest mobile operators: Megafon, Beeline, MTS:

For Megafon and Beeline you need to put the first character “!” in SMS (put only the sign, without quotes, in front of the text). If it doesn’t work, you can also try putting “.” or "?" (Apparently it differs in different regions).

With MTS the situation is a little better (since you make these introductions officially from the cellular operator, accordingly, this is guaranteed):

1) You need to install a new SMS message delivery center: in your phone, dial the command: *5005*7672*+79168960220# 2) Then you need to send an SMS to number 147 with the text “ON” (The message is FREE! We write ON without quotes!) You will receive an answer : Thank you, activated. 3) After this, you need to send an SMS with the text “REPORT FULL” (without quotes!) to number 147 Answer: Now you will receive a full delivery report.

• the sender and recipient have disabled read receipts in their privacy settings;

• the recipient has not yet had time to open the chat and read the message;
• There are problems connecting to the network.

In some cases, the display of read icons may be erroneous. What reasons can cause this problem:

• checking the status of the interlocutor - if he is not online, there will be one check mark next to the message;
• if the user was online but did not enter the dialogue, two gray checkmarks will appear opposite the message;
• there was a glitch in the application - perhaps an old version of the program is being used, it is important to install updates on time;
• there is a poor Internet connection;
• In the privacy settings, the reporting feature is disabled.

It is important to check every moment to understand why there are no read receipts for the sent message.

Disabling read receipts

If the user wants to hide the actions of reading messages from prying eyes, he can use a special option:

• open the program and go to settings;
• go to the “account” section;
• click on the “privacy” section;
• find the line “read receipts”;
• move the toggle switch to the inactive position.

Before you hide messages from being read in the program, you should know:

• the option will not be available for group chats;
• Read receipts from other users will not be visible when sending messages.

Checking the connection

Sometimes a person cannot send or reply to a message just because he is not currently connected to the Internet. At the same time, his interlocutor will be very worried due to the fact that they are not answering him.

Is it possible to hide SMS status in Viber

You can easily see the data of the sent text, just look at the checkboxes. What to do if the subscriber does not want to show his interlocutors when he reads the message? There is a special option for this in the Viber menu; it enables anonymous reading mode.

Activating anonymous reading mode:

1. Open Viber settings.

3. Uncheck the box next to the mode "Viewed".

   

4. Now the interlocutors will not know that the message has been read.

Important. The option has a minus. If you hide your status, you will not be able to see that the sent SMS was viewed. To enable the option, you need to reactivate the “Viewed” in the settings.

How do you know that a message in the messenger has been opened? This is easy to do, just look at the icon on the right. If they turn purple, the text has been viewed. The function is supported on both phone and PC. No additional configuration required.
