How to Attach a Media File to a WordPress Post and How to Detach the Attachment

Today we will tell you how to delete photos with me on VK, because this question, according to requests, concerns many people.

Photos with me is an album that contains all the pictures from VK on which your profile is marked. If you have not limited the option with your privacy settings, anyone can tag you in their photos, and you do not have to be present in this frame. Once the checkmark appears, the corresponding image will immediately appear in the “Photos of Me” album in your “Photos” section. If you don’t have such a folder, it means that no one has tagged you anywhere yet.

Why did we explain in such detail what kind of album this is, “Photos with me”? So that you understand, it may contain pictures that were not uploaded to the VK social network by you. As you understand, you will not be able to edit, let alone delete, such images. But don’t rush to get upset! You can always delete the tag itself on the Photo with me in VKontakte, and then this picture will forever disappear from the album of the same name in your profile.

Well, if you are the author of the image (that is, you were the one who uploaded it to VK), there will be no problems with complete deletion at all.

Over time, you may change your mind and make this post public. To correct the situation, you need to be on the main page and click on the three horizontal lines located at the top right of the screen.

In the menu that opens, select the “Archive” line.

In a new window, if you do not have an archive of publications open, click on the inverted triangle next to the line “Story archive”.

In the drop-down menu, select the line “Publication Archive”.

Select the photo you want to unzip. Click on it.

When the photo is loaded in full size, tap your finger on the vertical ellipsis located above it.

In the window that appears, select the line “Show in profile”.

The photo returns to its original place.

How to activate geotagging on photos?

Recording geolocation on every photo you take can be helpful. For example, if you need to remember exactly where a photo was taken, to quickly sort photos according to the shooting locations, or to compile thematic collections.

To activate

saving geolocation marks in iPhone, you need to:

1

.
Go to “ Settings
” → “
Privacy
” → “
Location Services
”;

2

.
Activate the switch next to the item “ Geolocation Services
”;

3

.
Go down to the “ Camera
” section, then select “
When using the application
” (to enable permanent geotagging) or “
Ask next time
” (in this case the user will have the opportunity to choose whether to enable or disable geotagging each time they take a photo) .

So, after making these settings, along with each new photo, the iPhone will also save the coordinates of the place where it was taken.

How to Remove Geotags from Photos on iPhone

Geotags are special marks with the coordinates of the place where the photo was taken. Such marks can be left by digital cameras and smartphones; they are recorded in a file and can be transferred along with the photo.

On the one hand, this helps to figure out where the photo was taken. Such tags are used by all kinds of services and applications to visually display images on a map or group photos by location.

On the other hand, data can compromise someone; such information is often used for criminal purposes.

To be on the safe side, you should either completely disable the creation of such tags or remove them from photos before passing them on to anyone or publishing them online.

Preventing and Removing Location Information from Your iPhone Photos

You can prevent all future photos from being geotagged by turning off geotag metadata on your iPhone. This will ensure that the information in your photos does not end up on social media after they are published.

To prevent your iPhone from tagging location data when taking pictures, you can:

  1. Launch the Settings app.
  2. Scroll down and click Privacy. Must have a white hand on a blue background icon.
  3. Location services should be at the top. Click on it.
  4. In the list of applications you are using, find “Camera” and click on it.
  5. Under Allow location access, click Never to turn off geotagging.
You will see a check mark to the right of Never if everything is done correctly.

It's worth noting that turning off location services for the Camera app does not remove geotagging information from photos you've already taken. You need to remove geotagging information from all photos taken on your iPhone to remove all traces of where they were taken.

By turning off location service for the stock Camera app for iOS, you will lose the ability to filter photos/videos by location. Also, disabling it this way will only work in that specific camera app. Third-party camera apps will still add geotags unless they are specifically disabled for that app. So if you use third-party apps like Instagram or WhatsApp to take photos, they can still access your camera and take photos with location data added.

If you've already taken several photos and would like to remove the geotag from them, you'll first need to check each photo for location.

  1. To find out if a photo has been geotagged, you can:
  2. Launch the Photos app.
  3. Click to open the photo you want to check.
At the very top of the screen, if your photo has been geotagged, you'll see geographic information. Typically this will appear as a city-state with the date and time just below.
  4. Swipe up on a photo to open the Places screen. You will be able to see the specific location on the street map where the photo was taken.
  5. If a photo doesn't have location data, you'll only see the date and time above the photo, and swiping up won't show the Places section.

Removing Geotag Information from Photos on iPhone

iPhone doesn't allow us to view, edit, add or remove photo metadata without first using a third-party app. Applications such as Metapho, CropSize, and Photo Investigator should help you with this. If you want to remove GPS or GEO metadata from your photos, you'll need one of these apps. You can find them quite easily through the iTunes App Store.

In this article I will talk about what you need to do using the CropSize application. Once you have downloaded the application:

  1. Launch the image editor on iPhone to instantly open Camera Roll.
  2. Select the desired picture and add it to the editor.
After adding a photo, you should see the main editing screen.
  3. Click the metadata icon at the bottom of the screen to view or change the metadata of the selected image.
  4. Click the information icon (“i”) in the top right corner to view the photo's metadata details.
The information panel displays a wide range of photo information such as width, height, DPI, color model, color depth, orientation, resolution, date/time, manufacturer, camera model, camera software, EXIF version, exposure, shutter speed, aperture value , brightness value, ISO, focal length, flash, detection method, scene type, white balance, lens specification, lens manufacturer, lens model, GPS, latitude, longitude, altitude, etc.
  5. Find the creation date and click on it to change the date and time of the photo.
  6. You can edit or add to existing IPTC photo metadata. This is where location data is stored.
IPTC stands for International Press Telecommunications Council, which is responsible for developing a standard for information that can be embedded in a digital photograph.
  7. Things like title, author, title, signature, keywords, author's address, city, state, country, zip code, phone numbers, emails, URLs, credit, source, copyright, contact, instructions, city, state etc. are editable.
  8. With one touch, you can also delete GPS or GEO data.

Once you've made all the changes, you can export the photo from your image editing app to the Photos app as a new photo.

Make sure you remove location data from photos or videos

The Photos app lets you see where a photo or video was taken. You just need to swipe your finger on the photo. When the location service is turned on, a map fragment will appear below the photo indicating the point where the photo was taken. In the case of remote coordinates using the above method and transferring the image or video to another person, the third-party device will not be able to determine the location where the photo was taken.

It's important to note that this feature only affects photos and videos you send via messages, email, or social media. Locally stored media will contain location data. In any case, the photo will also contain metadata about the time the photo was taken, the type of device, shutter speed and aperture.

Why are some files not attached and how can I find them?

The "Unattached" status occurs for various reasons, for example:

  • You deleted a certain entry from the web project where there were illustrations - after that they will all remain on FTP and in the database/admin panel, but as unattached.
  • A similar situation arises if you upload materials to the site directly through the “Library”, when, for example, the text for a note is still in development, but the photo is already ready (or it could be graphics for design elements, not blog articles).

Attention! Your post images and post thumbnails will work correctly even if some WordPress attachments are loaded separately or have been disconnected. This feature only affects organizational issues within the system; it does not affect the front end.

To find unattached files in WordPress, go to the “Library” section, then select the appropriate value in the field next to the “Filter” button and click on it:

In older/newer versions of the CMS, this screenshot may be slightly different, but the essence is the same.

Features of work

To see all geotagged images, open the photo map. But VKontakte does not always display your location. If you upload a photo from your computer, the location will most likely not be determined.

Or if they sent you a photo in a message, and then you upload it to VK via your phone.

Modern gadgets determine coordinates by default. That's why you need to know about the "enable/disable geolocation" feature on your device.

After all, not every user will like the fact that his personal information is available for everyone to view.

When you upload photos to popular social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, EXIF data, or location data, is automatically deleted. This is the official version. But only employees of the service into which the images are received can know for sure what is happening with your information.

So the question arises: is it possible to remove GPS data from a photo manually? Yes, you can. And we'll tell you how to do it.

Blocking a specific user

If you want to hide a photo from a person, that is, from a specific user, then you can simply block his profile. And then he won’t be able to find your Instagram page, your Stories and publications. In this case, the activity of the account of the user you blocked will remain. And he won’t even realize that you blocked him until he decides to visit your profile.

To block, you need to perform the following algorithm of actions. Log in to your Instagram account. We find the user we want to block. Click on the vertical ellipsis, which is located in the upper right corner.

In the menu that opens, select the “Block” line.

In the window that appears, confirm your decision.

A notification appears indicating that this user has been blocked. Click "OK".

It is important to know that a blocked user can be unblocked at any time.

In order for a person to re-open access to viewing your Feed and History, you need to go back to his page and click on the “Unblock” button.

A window will appear that will require confirmation of our actions. Click on the corresponding button.

A notification appears indicating that the user has been unblocked. Click "OK".

Important! If you previously followed a person who was blocked, then after unblocking you will have to follow him again, since the subscription is automatically canceled when blocked.

How to pin a post on the VKontakte wall on a computer?
