How to mark a person in History?

- Open the video for publication;

- Select a moment in the video to attach a tag to.

- Go to your profile and click on the “+” sign in the bottom panel;
- Select the photo to post;

- At the last stage, insert the text and put a geotag - between them you will find the “Tag people” field. Click on it;
- A photo will open in front of you. Click on the area where the object or person to be marked is located;
- Enter the profile name and find the account to tag;
- Confirm the action and post the photo.
After posting a post, the tagged account will see the post in its tags section and receive a notification.
On video
You can also tag an account on a video in your feed.
- Prepare the video, reaching the last stage before publishing it in the feed;
- Select “Tag people” again;

Unlike publications in Stories, you cannot tag an account at a selected moment in a video in your feed. The flag will be applied to the entire post.

The developers and administration of the photo network did not provide for such a function, limiting themselves to standard ways of telling friends about the appearance of a new interesting video. Therefore, to inform your loved ones about their presence in the video, you should:
- use tags that will help convey the necessary information;
- create an informative description with links to the account of the person included in the publication;
- write the required message in the comment.
There are no other effective and efficient ways to get the desired result. Therefore, no matter how much you would like to find a more convenient and simpler approach, you must choose from the indicated options.
How many people can you tag?
Different types of mentions and tags on Instagram receive different limits:
- There are theoretically no restrictions for photos and videos in the feed. You can tag as many profiles as needed. But keep in mind that if you tag a lot of people in a photo, individual tags may be difficult to find in the image. And materials with a large number of tagged accounts receive complaints about spam and violation of service rules.
- There is a limit of 10 accounts per Instagram Stories. When posting a photo or video, you can mention no more than 10 people. Each of the tagged profiles will receive a notification about this via direct message.
- You can mention no more than 5 people in comments. However, in order to leave the next comment with a mark, you will have to wait 5-7 minutes.
Why can't I mark it?

It will not be possible to indicate a person in the photo if there are already 50 mentions . Also, you cannot tag a profile more than once . You can only edit and tag accounts on self-uploaded images . You won't be able to tag yourself or a friend in someone else's picture.

View your marks
Notifications
As soon as you are tagged in a post in your feed, a notification about this will be sent to the “Notifications” section. Go to the page where new likes and comments on posts are displayed (second tab on the right). There you will also find a notification about the new mark.
If you are tagged in stories, a notification about this will appear in the direct message. In correspondence with the user who tagged you, you will see a photo and an “Add to History” button.
You were tagged in (x) stories
Another way not to miss new posts in Stories is in the notifications section. If you have new tags, you'll see a circle at the very top of this section that says "You've been mentioned in x stories."
How to remove references to yourself
If you are tagged in a photo you don't like, untag the post:
- Open the post in which you are tagged;
- Tap the tags sign in the lower left corner - it will show all the profiles tagged in the post;
- Tap the sign with your name;
- Select “Delete tag”;
- Confirm the action.
After this, the photo will disappear from the marked materials. Other users will also not see your account tag when viewing photos.
How to hide marks about yourself
If you don't like the material in which you were tagged, but you don't want to remove the tag, hide this material from your account.
- Open the post with your tag;
- Tap the sign with the account name;
- Select the "Hide from my profile" option.
- Return the photo to your profile by opening the same post again and selecting “Show on My Profile.”
You can also hide all photos or videos in which you are tagged. To do this, change your privacy settings.
- Go to your profile and open the “Settings” section;
- Select "Privacy";
- Click the “Tags” section;
- Select the "Hide photos and videos" option.
- All materials in which you are tagged will become available. Select the ones you prefer to hide.

How to see all the marks of another user
Posts in which the account is tagged are saved in a separate Instagram tab:
- Go to the profile whose tagged materials you want to see;

- Photos and videos in this section are the posts in which the profile is tagged.
You cannot view Stories where someone else's account is tagged. Such tags are visible to other users only when a profile shares a Story on their timeline.
